Haninge Week 9 - November 12, 2018

Hello!

We have had the most interesting weather this whole week, the sky always looks like it wants to rain but the clouds never quite open up! It has been fun to remember how this time of year feels in Sweden.

We have had some great experiences with the recent converts in Vendelsö and Handen! On Thursday, we were able to teach Eddy about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Elder Burns and I decided to use a Bible video for teaching each point of the Gospel: faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, enduring to the end. It was neat to discuss each point and then see a clip from Jesus' life where he taught or emulated it. When talking about repentance, we watched the video Go and Sin No More where Jesus is confronted with the woman accused of adultery. It was amazing to watch and to remember that the Savior is always willing to show compassion. He understands that we are imperfect yet also that we can improve and become more like him! I encourage you to watch the clip.

Yesterday, a recent convert in the Handen ward went to the Temple for the first time! Elder Burns and I thought it began at 10 am when it actually began at 9, but we were still able to be there for confirmations. The member, Mary, was extremely happy and it was great to be serving in the temple again.

We had a cool experience yesterday finding people to teach! We were at a house to teach a lesson to a man that we taught last Sunday, and his cousin answered the door. The man we taught last week actually wasn't home, but the cousin was with his girlfriend. They ended up inviting us in and we were able to teach a little of the Restoration in the same room as we had taught it in last week, just with two different people. The girlfriend seemed especially touched by our message and by the invitation to attend church next Sunday. When we told them that it began at 12, the girlfriend responded, "We will be there at 12." Her boyfriend then cut in, "no, we'll be there a little before 12." Yesss! Please pray that they come!

I am no longer a teenager! I turned 20 on Thursday. Thank you for all of the wonderful cards, emails, Facebook comments, etc! It was truly a special day, and a truly nostalgic day. I clearly remember turning 19 just a few months ago in Boden. What a wonderful, life changing year it has been!

We have zone conference this week! Elder Burns and I will be performing, "Savior, Redeemer of My Soul" along with two other elders.

I love you all, I pray for you as well!
