Haninge Week 17 - January 7, 2019

Hello!

Happy 2019! This is going to be a great year! Elder Burns and I saw and heard so many fireworks from our apartment. President said that we could stay up until midnight. That felt cool!

This email will be about 10 times shorter than last week. One cool experience that I'll share happened on Wednesday. We were headed out to an area where we swung by a potential person to teach and knocked some doors. Elder Burns and I had the idea to ask the people we talked to if we could film the conversation we had with them. It seemed like a good conversation starter and a fun way to get people interested. The time we had knocking doors was ok, but at the end of our time there we weren't really feeling excited anymore, plus it started raining onto the icy roads. But then we ended up talking to a cool person! On the last door we knocked, the man that answered said we could film the conversation, he also said that he wanted to change into different clothes before the movie-making began. We had a great conversation with him about God's love. At the end, we even found out that he is really good friends with a member in the ward!

Another cool experience happened on Saturday as Elder Burns and I walked to another tracting area. (We had a lot of finding time this week) It is an area fairly close to where we live but we're not sure missionaries have been there before. On the walk there, we ran into a couple that Elder Bills and I met on splits a few months ago! They were actually thrilled to see us again, especially the wife. We have their adress so hopefully we can visit them in the coming week. It was cool to see that people had been placed right in our path.

We had a great time at church yesterday. It was amazing to experience the two hour block twice in a row. It seemed to flow very smoothly and everyone seemed excited about the change. Three of the people we teach were able to come to church, one of them is the wife of a returning church member. Elder Burns and I have really come to love her, her husband, and their three kids. All five family members came and it seemed like they had a wonderful time, primary teachers work wonders!

I love you all!
