Jakobsberg Week 6 - March 26, 2018

In our new apartment area, Kallhäll, where we will be moving tomorrow
Hello!

Another awesome week.

The snow is melting away here in Stockholm! I have seen green grass twice over the past week, and I almost wore my smaller coat! Våren är här.

I went on splits with Elder Lee, one of President's assistants! He will be going home this week. I learned a ton from the day we had together! Elder Lee is really great at asking questions. As we tracted and contacted, we were able to have some really great conversations. Elder Lee is also super friendly and able to make those he talks to feel comfortable. These are all skills I want to better develop! One family we tracted in to let us in and we had great conversation. The APs went back to the family's house a few days later and the mom committed to come to church! It is always so cool to find people who are willing to 'prova budskapet.'

Thursday was an awesome day, we had a few cool things happen! Elder Petersen and I took the tunnelbana to a place called Bromma to teach a lesson. We had some time there before the teaching appointment, so we went tracting. The first door we knocked on invited us back! We will head back to Bromma on Thursday again and follow up. After the appointment in Bromma, we went on to Älvik to spend the rest of the evening. I had to use the bathroom, and there were no public restrooms around so we decided to knock on the door of a 'tänkbara undersökare,' Anders. He said I could use his bathroom, then he invited us to sit down and tell him about our message! I have never seen someone listen so intently to us telling about the Restoration. We will head back to his house later this week.

There is a senior couple in our ward, the Smiths! One of my favorite parts of each Sunday is talking to Elder Smith. He has lots of cool stories. He is also the ward mission leader, so we meet with him every Friday. The Smiths only have about 4 weeks left, then they will head back to their home in Rexburg, Idaho.

The YSA center is in central Stockholm. It isn't in our area, but we went on Pday to see it. There are young single adults who go each week for activities,  I think about 30. A couple missionary from Kaysville is assigned there! When we went, there was a sister missionary who went home a few months ago there with her family. Her mom took this picture of us (above) and posted it.

We have a new 'Easter Initiative' called "#AlltidDär" or "#AlwaysThere." It is the Europe Area's Easter initiative, and there is a great video that you can watch atlds.org.uk in English or jesukristikyrka.se in Swedish. It has been fun for Elder Petersen and I to talk to people about how Jesus Christ is always there. He is here when we need help, when we are happy, when we need forgiveness, when we want to be better. That is something that I can testify of. I am thankful for the knowledge that I get to share with people every day that He is there! Have a great week watching General Conference and celebrating Easter!

Love,

Äldste Francis

I still need to get the picture of Elder Lee and I from splits, but there is one of him here (he is on the right with the brownish-tannish coat). Also, the pictures of the trees and and the pictures with the trees in the background are taken in Kallhäll where we will be moving tomorrow. And then there is also a picture from Elder Petersen and Elder Berlin on splits. Enjoy!
